Medicare, Made Simple.

Free, independent guidance for Missourians and Illinoisans navigating Medicare — from an independent broker who researches your doctors and prescriptions before recommending a single plan.

Independent. No-cost to you. 95% virtual. Licensed in nine states.

I'm Bill Lawler, an independent Medicare broker based in Missouri. I don't work for any insurance company — I work for you. That means I can compare plans across every carrier available in your area, check whether your doctors are in-network, and confirm your prescriptions are covered before you ever enroll. And because carriers pay my fee directly, your premium is identical whether you enroll through me or on your own.

One 15-minute call is usually all it takes to know exactly where you stand.

Where Are You in the Medicare Journey?

Most people come to me at one of three moments. Find yours below, and I'll walk you through what comes next.

Turning 65 Soon

Your Initial Enrollment Period opens three months before your 65th birthday. Miss it, and you may face permanent late-enrollment penalties. I'll help you understand your options, compare plans, and enroll on time — no pressure, no confusion.

Losing or Leaving Employer Coverage

Retiring or dropping group health insurance triggers an 8-month Special Enrollment Period. The window is real, and the rules are specific. I'll make sure you don't miss it and that you land on the right plan for your situation.

Looking for Add-On Coverage

Already on Medicare but worried about the gaps? Hospital indemnity, cancer, heart attack and stroke plans, and final expense coverage can fill the spaces Medicare Advantage leaves behind. I'll show you what's worth it and what isn't.

Why Clients Choose an Independent Broker Over Going It Alone

Enrolling directly through Medicare.gov or a single carrier means you see only what that carrier wants you to see. Working with me costs you nothing extra — and gives you a complete picture.

I'm not contracted with any single carrier, so I have no incentive to steer you toward a plan that doesn't fit.

I check your doctors and prescriptions against every plan's network and formulary before making a recommendation.

Nearly all of my work is done by phone or video — no home visit required, no pressure in your living room.

I know the specific Medigap switching rules in Missouri and Illinois that most brokers either don't know or don't mention.

I'm licensed in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, Louisiana, Texas, Florida, Maine, Kansas, and Indiana.

My compensation comes from the carrier you choose. Your premium is the same either way.

Medicare Plans I Can Help You Compare

Not sure which type of plan fits your life? Here's a plain-language look at what's available — and I'm happy to walk through any of them with you directly.

Medicare Advantage (Part C)

Bundled coverage that replaces Original Medicare. Often includes dental, vision, and drug coverage. Networks and costs vary significantly by plan and county.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

Works alongside Original Medicare to cover the cost-sharing gaps — deductibles, coinsurance, and copays — that Medicare leaves to you. Missouri and Illinois have different rules for switching Medigap plans, and I know both.

Part D Prescription Drug Plans

Standalone drug coverage that pairs with Original Medicare or a Medigap plan. Formularies change every year, and the wrong plan can cost you hundreds at the pharmacy counter.

Not Sure Which Type Is Right for You?

Medicare Advantage and Medigap work very differently. I put together a plain comparison to help you understand the trade-offs before we talk.

Common Questions About Working with a Medicare Broker

  • Does using a Medicare broker cost me anything?

No. I'm compensated directly by the insurance carrier when you enroll in a plan. Your monthly premium is exactly the same whether you enroll through me or contact the carrier yourself. You get independent guidance at no added cost.

  • Can you help me if I live outside Missouri or Illinois?

Yes. I'm licensed in nine states: Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Michigan, Louisiana, Texas, Florida, and Maine. Nearly all of my work is done by phone or video, so geography is rarely a barrier.

  • What if I already have Medicare — can you still help me?

Absolutely — I mean, yes. Each fall, Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period runs from October 15 through December 7, and it's your opportunity to switch plans, add drug coverage, or pick up supplemental coverage. I can review what you have and help you decide whether a change makes sense.

  • How do I know you're recommending the right plan for my doctors and prescriptions?

Before I recommend anything, I look up your specific doctors in each plan's provider directory and run your prescriptions against the plan's formulary. I won't suggest a plan that doesn't cover your care.

  • What's the fastest way to get started?

Schedule a free 15-minute phone call. Most people leave that call knowing exactly what their next step is. You can also fill out the contact form and I'll follow up within 24 hours.
